We acknowledge that we gather on Treaty 6 territory. Treaty 6 is the territory of the nehiyawak, Stoney Nakota, Nakota Sioux, and Dene as well as occupies Metis land. Many other Indigenous peoples have chosen to call these territories home including the Inuit peoples of the Arctic territories. We humbly admit that we are learning what it means to be on Treaty territory and unceded land. We know there is still important work that needs to be done to honor the treaties. Indigenous histories, languages, and cultures influence our music community, and we are grateful to be guests on this land.

Jenny Woo

Jenny Woo is a singer/songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. She started her acoustic oi! project in 2008 and has since toured in over 55 countries and has released 5 albums and 6 singles on various record lables throughout the world. She has taken the traditional themes and energy of the punk rock and oi! movement and combined these with the simplicity and stripped-down nature of folk music. Her songs speak about personal empowerment, identity politics, the destructive qualities of racism and social prejudice, as well as themes of loyalty, pride in oneself, rebellion and community.

Ben Hooke

Ben Hooke is a singer/songwriter from Edmonton, Alberta. He explores a vintage sound of rock inspired folk music. He started at the age of twelve with a dream of playing the lead guitar in a rock band, slowly developed new taste in music, especially folk. As time went on began to dabble in singing and eventually found himself to be a solo act.

Ken Stead

With an open guitar case and heart, singer-songwriter Ken Stead started by played to commuters and computers at the airport, saving up every coin and bit of good will he earned to fund his debut record Fear Has No Place Here. Now, following the release of that album, Stead is enjoying the launch of his sophomore album Civil War in March 2019.
